Hi everyone,my name is Davin and i am a 16 year old high school student. I'm new to long hair, and i have a question. Last October I started growing out my hair, then i had it buzzed. Well,it's a year later and my hair is half way between my eyes and my nose. I want it to my chin. I figured it would be about January before it gets there, does this sound right? Please answer. E-mail me if possible. My address is heffer75@hotmail.com thanks

The 'distance' between the mid-nose-ridge bone and the bottom of the chin is about 4 inches. The hair growth rate is usually 1/2 inch per month (unless yours grows faster, which it did not seem to be from your description).
Now, do your math right and it'll take about 8 months from now :)
Be patient and happy growing, you'll get there!

I've got the same problem as you, just that the one who's giving me the crap was my mum, my dad was always cool 'bout me having long hair.
My suggestion is, firstly, you've got to believe in yourself. Believe that what you want is really LONG HAIR and long hair will make you the most charming and attractive man than you ever were. Secondly, having this belief, you must establish that your identity is being a longhair and it is part of you, it's within you, your character, you mascot and your image. Finally, having all these, you'll inevitably develop self-confidence. Having the utmost self-confidence would make even the most nasty critic change his opinion of you.
In a nutshell, to react verbally to your parents will be fruitless, and even counter-productive. If the arguments only involve verbal exchanges, remain silent. Take their words in stride and convert that into your motivation to prove to them that long hair is FOR YOU. My experience is, eventually, they'll find it useless to dwell on your long hair and all the sputtering will stop.
Have faith in yourself and pple will develop faith in you. Enjoy!
