Ricky Martins' former long hair

Does anyone remember when Ricky Martin had long hair back in the early 90s? I would like to dye my black hair the same color his was. I know for a fact that Ricky Martin had dark hair when he was a child(Menudo). My question is this: When you have long hair can you get it streaked or is it called highlights? Or is there a difference? Also I don't want my hair permanently dyed just the stuff that washes out in 3-4 months. Thanks.

Hi Carlos! I think what you have in mind, streaking or highlighting, are the same thing. When you have long hair, btw, you can also get your whole hair bleached blond. I had mine done a couple of months ago. Love it! With any bleaching, you need a re-touch in a couple of months. So your color, at the root especially, will gradually go back to your regular color. 3-4 months sounds like plenty of time to me to gradually lose your blond coloring. But why would you want to lose that beautiful golden blond? Maybe you'll feel differently once you've had it bleached!

Whats the deal with blond these days? It started out as a california bimbo thing, then went to white trash, then actressed, and now its mainstream and men have been doing it for awhile. Why do you want blond? It wont match your skin tone and usually not your facial features, not to mention eyebrows and facial hair People who arent blond weren't meant to be blond. I cant really think of any advantages of blond. I can think of one for black: hide imperfections and frizziness, and layers blend in real well. I dont mean to be a hater or anything, I just get tired of seeing the same thing on probably 25 % of the boys in my high school. Another 1/4 are naturals. Im a dark blond personally and, no sir, I dont like it.
Do what you want though, who am I too judge. Do what you think looks good. All im trying to do is promote diversity. Sorry, bleachers.

Usually, the high school students doing the bleaching either don't quite do it right, use the wrong color, or something. I see many of them walking around with not just blond hair but YELLOW!!!! It looks totally stupid!

Any kind of bleaching (which, if you have dark hair, must be done before any color change) is very damaging to hair and contradictory to the maximum growth of long hair. The kind that rinses out doesn't show up on naturally dark hair; it would be a waste of money. Be natural, man, you don't need to line the pockets of the hair stylists who try to tell you you need to change your hair.
