How long was your hair before the chop?? I think people will get used to your new look and whilst re - growing your hair you should think about other things and forget about it.By all means cover your head if it stops you seeing your hair and gradually it will grow.
Whilst growing it don't go to a hairdressers for anything not even a trim ok!!!!!

Hi, First let me say I really like this site, I love my husband's long hair, and having cut-and-grown-out my own hair over the years I salute any guy willing to go through the effort. I think most of the pictures of longhaired guys I've seen are really cute - just like for women, find a style that fits your face and hair texture and you'll look great.
Now to my dillema, my husband hasn't had a haircut in 3 or 4 years, his hair is about mid-back, and since the ends are all different lengths he is thinking about cutting it. Also, I think he liked the length when it was just longer than shoulder length better that he does now. He'd still like to be able to wear a ponytail sometimes though. He's contemplating just taking a scissors to the hair about 2" below the pony elastic and lopping it off, but I told him it would look awful. I want to take him to my stylist, who does men and women, but he's afraid they'll take too much off or make him look like a girl! Also, his hair is very slightly wavy and I'd like to see a style that brings out more wave.
So, does anyone know of a web-site with good hairstyle pictures for men with long hair? Is there a type of haircut we should be asking for? Would it be reasonable to just go to the salon and tell them what I just told you? Any other specific advice? And finally, does anyone know web sites with pictures of actors with long hair?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Erica

Erica,
If he is anxious about going to a stylist, then you do some trimming. It doesn't have to happen all at once. If he is getting shaggy, 1/2 inch of here and there is not going to hurt.
Your husband will probably love it if you pamper his hair.
Get one of those very large round brushes and when your husband's hair is almost dry, take a section and roll it under on that brush and give it 45 seconds of warm hair from a blow drier. This will neaten it up and turn the ends under.
Gradually he will get used to some active grooming. You can try braiding it on a saturday afternoon when you are going to stay in.
Basically you need to help him get over the notion that men do not do their hair. In time, he may become proud that he does and lose his anxiety.
