The Gothic Look

I have been asked so many times by people if I am gothic. It's starting to happen a lot more often now that my hair is getting a bit longer too. I have the whitest skin (ghost like) and my hair is really dark (looks black) but I have never dyed my hair or anything like that so I guess I'm some kind of natural goth. There must be other people out there with naturally white skin and dark hair, so what is it you guys do about this if it's not the look you're going for? I don't really consider dyeing or bleaching my hair an option.

Does your hair style look gothic? Some of the hair products gothic styles require darken the hair significactly, as they trap moisture in. I'm quite pale too so I try to get sun and eat carrots. Eating a lot of carrots while turn your skin orange overtime, my mom says it happened to me when I was a baby ( it isnt dangerous) So I am trying to eat 2 carrots a day or so which is around 500% beta carotene RDA. I think my skin has gotten a little darker and more healthy looking. When it gets nice out again I will try to sit outside a bit or mow the lawn or something.

Okay...
I am gothic,
*all manner of shit flies toward Murky*
Yes, my naturally pallid skintone and dark hair (ie almost black) is very goth. I'm also a bit of a waif. But that doesn't make me more or less goth, if I didn't think "goth". My hair's kind of long, I've been growing it since... a year ago. As a result, I've got these long(ish) curtains, covering my ears and I've tied the back into a ponytail. Looks rather sexy, I think. Even my mother likes it! Now THAT is an achievement :¬)
Don't be offended (dunno if you are or not) if anyone asks if you're goth when you've got long hair - long hair's very goth! To me it means you've had the tenacitiy to grow your hair for x amount of time. Something about you, such as your hair, can be very goth even if you aren't.
I'm sick of wannabe goths who jump around with silly hair, saying "Look at me - I'm a goth!" when they quite blatantly aren't mopey/suicidal/angsty enough. I think they just want to associate themselves with a social group, thus "I'm a goth." Keyword = a. They just need to get a life. Goth is probably best viewed as an adjective - a way of describing part (or in some cases all) of how you are and how you think. Demonising the people who reject(ed) you for being that way is very important!
