wind &straightening irons...

I know if rainwater comes into contact with hair straightened with a straightening iron, the hair will become wavy again. But what about wind? Will strong wind take away the straight effect given by a straightening iron?
I live in England where the wind is a real nuisance. I know Americans don't experience this problem as much, except during hurricanes in Florida, but i could still do with your help! Thanks.

I don't think wind will have any effect as long long as the air is dry. Humid air, common in the summer in the U.S., will make the hair wavy again whether or not it's windy.
