Can anyone tell me how hairstyles are developing these days? Are we at last getting longer or are we sticking with this buzz-cut frenzy?

One look will tell you that currently the men's fashion runway isn't just about clothes. Menswear designers are spending just as much for hairstylists and groomers to present a total image--clothing and hair! And the big look this season? Longer hair. Battered, beaten cut and shorn for most of the 1990s, long hair is on its way back. Encouraged by relaxed office dress codes, younger workingmen have created a very rolled-out-of-bed look--sculpted high (with the use of styling aids) and tousled.

Sorry, I gave up Buzzcuts as soon as I graduated Air Force Basic Training -- and haircuts (as much as possible) after leaving the service!
The current buzz craze is as much a mystery to me as the current "apply gel generously, then towel dry" look. To each his own, but I just don't see the appeal of bedhead as a fashion statement. ;^)
Seriously, tho; I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and hairstyles today seem to have more variety overall than I can ever remember. Perhaps this is a small portent that people are learning to be themselves and not sheep/lemmings?
Naaaaah!

Other than it being nice to see more longhairs out in public... I can't see how this really matters. "Fashion" has always been (in my opinion) something for people with (a) too much time on their hands and (b) either gullible or with low self esteem such that they feel compelled to do the "latest thing" to be with the "in crowd."

Find a copy of "Fashion" magazine; probably 25-30% of the guys in there have long hair.

Well, I am a Heavy Rock musician and clerical worker and I'll tell ya, the office environment has loosened up somewhat and will hire a man with LH as long as it stays in a pony at work. On the other hand, today's Heavy bands like Godsmack, Linkin' Park and 3 Doors Down all have short hair. The Gods have a sense of humor!
