I feel like I know you all !!!!!

Hello everyone,
I used to have very short hair (buzz #1 type short) and I decided to grow my hair out ages ago. I now have hair down past my ears all the way round and chin length at the back, and I feel so much better and happier in myself with longer hair than I did with short hair. All my friends have very short hair as I used to and now that I have grown it long hair I get some comments from people which become really annoying, but then I think to myself, I am me and I am happier now not being a sheep like everyone else because they all think it looks so good to have the SAME short style as each other (although I am not putting them down - I think people should just be themselves).
But all the way through my awkward stage, and when I found this messageboard, I have been able to get through the abuse and feel that I can relate to everyone that posts messages here, even though most of you have got much longer hair than me! I remember when I used to look at someone with really long hair as a younger kid and think "my god, he looks so stupid" but now that I know how nice and friendly everyone here with long hair seems to be, I have a completely new outlook on people with longer hair (me being one!). I just wish that the minority of the sad bullies in this world would accept people for who they are.

I agree. This site in general and this message board in particular provide some balance and counterpoint to the negative reactions in the "real world". I have found though, that there are also a lot of POSITIVE reactions in the "real world" particularly from women!

Not to sound boastful, but that's one of the things that makes having long hair great. Too bad the short haired guys that give us a hard time doesn't see that there are a lot of women that like long haired guys. Heheh. - Reinhart
