HELP!!!!! I'M THINNING!!!

Im 21 and my hair is starting to thin..i went to a dermatologist few daysa go and he said its starting to thin and my hair line is receeding a lil..but nothign to really worry bout right now cuz im at that age for it..but what can i do to stop it? im takin lots of vitamints thats supposed to help it..but im only 21 and i think my hair is my best feature..how can i stop this>?>? ex..i just put some leave in conditioner in my hair..ran a comb thru it like once and lost 10-15 strands of hair..my hair usually feels full and stuff but lately its felt dull and thin the past few weeks..im gonant ry a clarifying shampoo to see if that helps
also how can u tell if the lil pieces of hair that sticks up all over ur head is new hair grwoing in..or broken hairs? i have thin/fine hair naturally anyway

It could be that your hair really is starting to thin but it could be something else. My friend used to have an undercut/mullet type thing (shaved on the sides long on top) down to about the middle of his back. He naturally has really thin hair and when it got to a certain length it started to fall out like crazy (and he was only 16 at the time so it obviously wasnt an aging thing.) After seeing a dermatologist he concluded that his crappy thin hair follicles werent strong enough to support the wieght of his hair, and once he took a few inches off it stopped falling out. Have you recently decided to grow your hair longer, or are you going for terminal lenght for the first time? Im no hair expert so dont take everything i say completely serious but you might want to try trimming your hair a few inches, also i have seen shampoos that slow down hair growth rate allowing it to stay in your scalp longer so it can attain maximum thickness (again im no hair expert and im not sure if this is in the best interest of your existing hair, all though it may be for the hair that is in your scalp.) Lemme know if this helps or if you find anything that does because i expect to be dealing with thi prob a few years down the road too :)
