long hair = noticeable shedding?

I've been noticing more hairs come out lately when I brush my hair or run my hands through it. I'm wondering if this is because of it getting longer and the hairs that do come out are therefore more noticeable that when they were short. Longer hair would tend to get tangled more often in a brush or fingers whereas short hairs might fall out unnoticed.
Has anyone else experience more noticeable (and normal) hair loss as they get longer hair?
I supposed I could be going bald but perhaps this is an explanation.

I was 14 or 15 when I hit the "long," stage (For lack of a better term), and like you I noticed hair everywhere.
But I reckoned myself too young for male pattern baldness, and was getting quite worried seeing my hair all over the place.
I ended up going to a dermitologist whose specialty is hair loss. He told me the very thing you want to hear. "As your hair gets longer, it's natural shedding becomes more and more noticable."
And boy was he right. Now as I pass the 4 year mark (In early September), my shedding is more noticable now than ever. Natural waist length hair really does show up when it hits the floor/sink/tub, etc.
I now shed usually between 30-40 a day (Yes, I'm prone to counting them). However I used to shed 100+ a day. I'm not sure why it slowed down, but I imagine it has a lot to do with treating my body (and hair!) considerably differently.
I have to say, though, that this might have been my salvation - NEVER BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN IT'S WET! Let it air dry, then brush it. Hair is at it's weakest when wet, and you're far more likely to pull out/break them if you brush it at that point.
Alright, that's enough for me.

Hi, new here.
Im 19 and have staight dark hair down to my naval. I brush out and pull out ( dangling that is) about 20 hairs a day. It's all pretty normal. Just be very gentle with your hair. It's very normal.
