Hair with a natural side part?
Posted by Yves on August 25, 2001 at 12:12:35:
Hi,
I have a natural side part, or 'cow-lick' on the right of my forehead. My fringe length is nearly at the bottom of my nose when straight, and the top length has just reached the top of my ears, with the side lengths below the ears now. At the moment I just brush with the sidepart, using some moose and a little hairspray for hold yet it kinda looks like a 'comb-over'.
I get endless shit about this, comments every day like "get f**kin a haircut", "whats with the gay hair?" and the ever popular "you look like fag".
I would really appreciate some advice on how to style the hair with a natural part such as mine. I read through the archived messages for quite awhile and could find no such information about this particular problem. I have no idea what to do, and though I'm sure it will look good once long, I really need some help to get through this stage and into the long stage :)
Thanks for all your help, it means alot to me.

you have failed to express a preference of appearance so i'm unsure how to respond.
as far as the comments- such remarks come from people of remarkable low character and merit no response at all. if anything they indicate that you have succeeded in escaping the clutches of a society that insists that you comform. people who say such things are certainly not your friends. your demonstration of independence threatens them and that is how they 'get back' at you. relish in their demonstrations of galloping ignorance as confirmations of your own idependence.

Sorry about that, I'm wondering about any different appearance, any style that could work with a side part like mine without looking like a combover.

considering the medium being used to communicate i am as good as blind with regard to questions of taste- that is: i can't see you and therefore am unqualified to say what looks good on you. ultimately the only person you need to please is yourself- not us, not oafish boors who try to make themselves look better by putting down others- try different things and see what you like best.
