Alcohol In Conditioners

I have been reading that we should never use anything with alcohol in our hair. Well, i looked and every conditioner on the supermarket, no matter what brand, all of them have alcohol on their composition. And this goes to gels, mousses, hair sprays and so on as well. Does anyone know a conditioner without alcohol? Especially me, i have really dry hair, i have to be really careful if i want my hair to be long and healthy.
Thanks

Well there is alcohol and then there is alcohol. Alcohols are varied just like oils are. One purpose alcohols have is that they can bond to both polar and nonpolar molecules. In hair care, this means they can bond to oils as well as water-soluble compounds. Were it not for the alcohol, the components of the conditioner would likely separate.
Some alcohols are very damaging to hair and dry them out quickly. Others are more benign. I'll see if I can find a good list and post it here.
