Hi, i'm 16 years old and really want long hair, but my school won't allow it. However they will allow it if it's only from the top and not past my shoulderblades so i'm doing that.(which i've seen a few people with and i actually really like the way it looks but it's stupid the way they will only allow this kind of long hair) Right now it's up to my ears and it gets really dry and frizzy if i don't use gel, i hope this stops soon. Well anyways, my question is when i get out of school(i get one and a half years left here) can i grow out the sides with out cutting off what i already have? i'm not sure if it will look wierd or not but i don't want to have to start over completely. Thanks

YES! When growing out any portion of your hair which has been kept short, there is no reason to cut that which is already long. A competent stylist can give you any help needed (without cutting) to work you through the transition period until all your hair is "one-length" after you have left that school. In the meantime, good luck!
