Willie's hair

Did anyone else see Willie Nelson on the "America: a Tribute to Heroes" television special that was on tonight? Willie's had long hair for years, but usually we only see it braided. Tonight it was all loose. I thought it looked great!
Maybe this means that long hair is becoming somewhat more "acceptable" if such a big time television special lets a longhair perform the final (and arguably most important) song of the night...

When I saw that, I thought of that line one of the celebs said earlier about how our country doesn't persecute people because of their race, beliefs, or how they look...

I saw it, he looked great. My understanding is he had it loose
because the producers wanted the participants to be
casual.

I saw it. I hope the producers who made "America: a Tribute to Heroes" start making more shows like it. This show admits that there are good people who have long hair and beards, that people don't have to reject people who don't look the same as they do. This show was not like the other shows that often defame long hair.

Yes, this man has gorgeous hair, and he's 68! This is a very good example that one is never too old to have super long hair. I'm getting impatient now, I can't wait to have hair like his ;)

Yes, I saw it. And I was awestruck, Willie has some of the most beautiful hair that I have ever seen. But, didn't it used to be gray? I think that he dyed it, but it looks great!
did anyone tape this?

By chance did anyone videotape this show? I didn't hear about it until after the fact and would love to see the entire show. Please email privately to michaelc@iastate.edu
Thanks!
He is a performing artist

I am quite sure that Willie Nelson wearing his hair loose had NOTHING to do with him being "allowed" to do so. I can't imagine any artist (especially, a well established one) would allow anyone to tell him how to wear his hair, anyway. This may be the case in films, where a man needs to wear a certain style in accordance to the director's wishes, but Willie was just being himself. What would be the point for any producer/director to insist he wear his hair braided? And why would he succumb to their wishes? He was giving his talents freely, I hardly think anyone would have the nerve to try to require a specific hairstyle! Just my thoughts on this.
