Thank God for the freedoms we have in America! I'm pasting the following snippet from a news story about the Taliban government I read online:
"Anyone observed who has shaved and/or cut his beard, they should be arrested and imprisoned until their beard gets bushy," said an edict issued in 1996 after the Taliban seized the capital.
Conversely, long hair is equally frowned upon.
"To prevent the British and American hairstyle ... people with long hair should be arrested and taken to the religious police to be shaved. The criminal has to pay the barber," the edict says.
