I want wavy hair!

Hi, I'm new to this board. I'm 21 years old, male, and currently my hair is about and inch in length all around, maybe a little longer on the top. I had long hair back in high school but only on the top. It grew to about 6 inches or so and was straight as an arrow. I noticed that back/bottom of my hair is starting to curl a bit. I admit, my hair is still very straight.
I would like to have my hair like the lead singer of Creed...you can go to creed.com to see what i mean. I was wondering if there is any chance that my hair would become wavy at a certain length, or if there is anything i could do to make it a little wavy. I've always wanted a longer hair style but my hair is too straight! Please help me out here. Thanks!

Assuming you don't want to get a perm, there is something you can do which one of my friends used to do. To do this, your hair has to get long enough so you can braid it. After you shampoo your hair, put in a braid while it is still damp, and let it dry that way. When you take out the braid afterwards, your hair should be more wavy.

Yes, that does work. But, for me,
when I comb it, (and I MUST comb it)
there goes the wave.
Suggestions?
