Progress

I have been quietly growing my hair now for almost nine months. I have very curly hair. I have a few questions. The first is when I take a shower and wash my hair, I have noticed that I shed quite a bit. Is that normal? Also, my hair is getting long enough where I am noticing it flying in my face even when it is under a hat. Does anyone else have instances where they noticed their hair was getting quite long???

Your hair shedding is perfectly normal. Our scalp loses a lot of hairs each day, but it also makes up for it by growing even more than is lost!
I remember when I could first put the end of my hair into my mouth (tastes...weird) it was strange but cool all the same.
The problem with hair growing is that for a LONG time it will be blowing about in your eyes and face until it gets long enough to put behind your ears, when this happens you are not totally free from the wind. It will still blow all over the place but to a lesser extent.
Now when it is long enough to ponytail, that must be the best part (I have been growing for almost 11 months) I can ponytail the back of my hair but the front remains in my face but when it is all ponytailed you will have nothing to fear from the elements (unless it starts to rain chewing gum! :-s)
Good luck in growing!
