I use lots of gel in the mornings to get my hair to stay down. But I wondering if that could hurt my hair on down the road??? Gel has been a life saver during the arkward so far.

Im sure that that(ALCOCHOL FREE)gel will not damage your hair. But if you use alcohol base gel it will dry your hair and in humid climites will make it crancky.

Yes! Some Gel's will destroy your hair. I once purchased a cheap GEL called "LA Looks", and it dried my hair out, and left it very unmanageable. But the good news is that there are Gels that will not hurt your hair at all. I use one called "Kenra" that I bought at a serious hair product store. There are others, but be prepared to pay $15 or so for a bottle of good GEL. On the bright side, a little of the quality stuff goes a very long way!
Another note, I once believed that alcohol in GEL was bad. Actually, that's not true. There are products with alcohol that do no damage to my otherwise extremely sensitive hair. Therefore, there must either be a difference in the alcohol used, or its other ingredients that are causing the problems.
Good luck.
