Hair

I'm a 15yr old 'mosher' from England. I go to a very posh school where 99% of the boys have a geled quiff. ick. Not wanting to be like everyone else I've been considering long hair for a long time. However, there are a number of problems
1)My hair is ginger
2)My hair is fuzzy
3)My hair is 'wavy'
4)When wind, rain or anything touches my hair, it doesn't flop back into position, it stays where it'd has been moved. It goes below my eyes, but it can still stick straight up without any gel.
5)After extensive straightening with hair dryers, tongs and so on, it goes wavy again about 30 seconds after being in the rain, wind etc
I use conditioner every day, and I follow the instuctions on the bottle. Is my hair crap because I'm going throught the 'inbetween' stages, or am I just crap. Will it get better as it get's longer, and how long should it be before I consider dreading it?

I'm from Britain myself and I know what you mean by that dodgy fringe most teenagers have nowadays.
Don't worry that your hair is ginger. All long hair looks cool and my brother had long ginger hair and he looked great (a bit like Axl Rose)
When your growing your hair out, you have little choice but too look a little silly for a few months. Trust me, give it a chance and your hair will become easier to manage and you should not have many problems with it.
Dreading it, eh? I'd usually advise NOT to do that as it is not very good for your hair, but if you want to you can. I'd wait until it was about 2 inches below your chin from the front of your bangs down before dreading it and when you do go to a barber you can trust, who will not take unneccesary inches off your hair.
Good luck!
