Long hair tips

Hey all,
I am utterly frustrated with my hairstyle. I used to have longer hair, but since I could not 'control' it, I had it trimmed to what i have now. Even now it' still VERY puffy, and dry. I was wonering what any recommends i should do.
I'm almost debating if I want to go all the way short and not have any length to the hair. My hair is naturally wavy and curly so it's even worse =(
After I could not handle the long hair ( it was WAY TOO poofy and VERY dry ) I decided I would go for the haircut like Johnny Reznick ( main singer of Goo Goo dolls )
That's the picture the stylist had in front of her when she gave me this...
I don't know what she did =( !!!!!!!!!!!
Any styling ideas/suggestions?
Thanks,
Paul

Hey Paul,
I'd say you just have to stick it out. You are basically at that point where things start to suck! It's in your ears...it's in your eyes...you really can't "style" it...and you can't pull it back and bind it up. As for the dry part...try going a day or two without shampooing and condition the heck out of it. The only other suggestion I can make is to use some sort of gel to help control it a bit, or wear bandanas or hats for awhile if possible. I feel for ya...thus the reason I'm not cutting any time soon...don't think I could make it through that stage again! lol. Hope that helps!

what do ya mean 'suck'? your scaring me =) Is it going to get worse? if so, in what way?
Also, I do use gel, lots of it, but the damn hair always puffs out and gets extremely dry at the ends.
How do those rock stars get their hair so g*d damn perfect? heh, we may never know.

K - well, maybe suck was a bit harsh...but it's quite a handful until you can pull it behind your ears...then later into a binder - for those days you just don't want it "roaming free." lol All I can say is grow it! :-) You may not be thrilled for awhile...but later on...it's the best !!

You know what, bro, some of us just aren't made for the haircut that we'd like to have. People with curly or very wavy har should never get short haircuts unless you want to spend every day blowdrying it straight, or you want a 'fro. If you want the most out of curly hair you should grow it to at least shoulder length, so the weight can pull it down and make it less poofy. If it's still poofy, you either relax it, get an undercut, or grow it longer. Check out my post on "question on conditioning" below for tips on how to take care of your curly hair. Tell me how it goes. Peace and good luck.
