Terrible story

(I am not a longhaired guy, I'm a female who has been lurking here for quite some time.)
My school's ice hockey team went on a trip to Canada last week. There's a boy on the team who had this great bouncy blond hair (technically in the awkward stage, but it looked fine).. on the trip, some of his team mates held him down and cut it off. He didn't even come to school today because he's traumatized (and looks pretty bad--well, I haven't seen it yet, but it's got to be awful.) Our band director thinks he should take them to court, and I do too. :p
Why would anyone do something like this? My theory is that they were all jealous of his hair. :p
Aside from the fact that it's abuse and should never have happened.. I'm extra mad because this leaves the band with only *one* long-haired guy.. *grumbles*

He was physically constrained against his will. A part of his body was cut off. Damn right there should be legal action, and it should not be civil. This is criminal and fellonious.

I would suggest consulting a lawyer. Not sure what to suggest in
this case. Don't know if this person has recourse or not.
P.S. I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV.

If no one thinks it can go anywhere (it may get laughed off by shorthairs) then make it a public matter and get the news in on it, or find another way. Make everyone of those bastards names available for everyone to see. It may get ugly but so was what happened. Watch the vermon scatter when the lights come on.
