JC Penny model

Just as a point of interest: I was flipping through a JC Penny circular that came with the Sunday newspaper, and one of the male models had blond shoulder-length hair. It was so refreshing after seeing nothing but crew-cut types for so long.

It just goes to show, if you don't like a style, wait a few years.
Covering the ear and shoulder-length hair on guys is beginning to make a comeback in many popular fashion outlets. Check GQ, American Eagle Outfitters, Gap, etc.
I doubt you'll se much beyond the shoulders for awhile. It'll take some time for people to get beyond the buzz cut/boy band look.
