Split ends

Should split ends be trimmed off? I discovered some split ends that go a long way up the hair shaft, so I started trimming them before they get worse. I only trim the very tips of the hair.

Please be careful, I suggest that you very carefully trim your own split ends, do not let some stranger - barber, hair stylist do it for you, as they may cut hair that does not need to be cut.

Good stylists are very hard to find in the UK at least, and I've even been know to visit the USA to a good stylist I know and trust.

If you don't want the split ends to continue, you should trim them all, or they will continue traveling up the hair shaft. However, you have to trim the hair off up to wear the split end stops, not just the tips. If you leave any split hair, it will just keep splitting and won't do any good. For example, one strand is split 4 inches up the shaft, but you only trim 1 inch off. WRONG. That won't do any good.
