map progress of your hair do what I do

In Novemeber I bleached my hair blonde. It looked great. Now I can map out how quickly my hair is growing by looking at the roots. It's mega cool. It hasn't bummed up my hair either because, similar to Kurt Cobain, I never wash it. It doesn't even look dirty or greasy. For some reason the blonde seems to take that away. I intend dying it again around mid March. Anyone else tried this piece of cool idea?
