>>>I've found the back of collars on shirts or jackets can be the cause of extreme curling at the back. Give it time to grow past the back collar and it should look just fine.

my hair flips out at the ends too. it is a couple of inches past my neck. i hate the way it flips so much that i usually just wear it back in a ponytail. the best thing that i have found that works is to wash it at night time and let it air dry. then after sleeping on it, the next morning, it is not as flipped out. i hear that after it grows out longer, it will not flip out anymore. time is the cure :)
