Hi. Am new to this site and want to say hey to everyone. I have read alot of the comments on here and would like to post my own based on those comments and my experiences etc. I had short hair when I was young, but around 11 or so started growing it out at different lengths etc. Finally at 15 just let it grow and grow. Now at 36 the hair is down to my ass and I love it. I grew it long because I loved it long, not because of style. It was just a feeling and desire to do so. Some guys grow thier hair long for style or just to get girls etc, but you should grow it for yourself.
When I went to private high school back in the day, they were cool and did not care that my hair at the time was past the shoulders and then some. As long as it was clean and neat. Some of the classmates I had also had long hair. When it was time to work after school it was never an issue with employers, and if they said anything, I just said "the hair doesn't do the work, the hands do and so does your mind okay". That always shut them up.
Now in public its usually not an issue and when I have had girlfriends the parents were always cool. Society is based on image, sometimes the wrong image. Thats why alot of guys get crap for long hair all over the world. But here's something you can say to the negative people. Ask them if they go to church and if they are religous. If they say yes, ask them "why do you go to church and pray to God and Jesus, especially since Jesus had long hair in his day"? "You give me a hard time with long hair yet you worship someone that had long hair themselves". "Look at a cross, his image or sculpture shows him with long hair". Now granted Jesus probally did not have hair as long as some of us etc, but he did have long hair and he was a rebel as well. When I bring this or other points up people tend to get real quite. Some of the greatest rulers and leaders in the history of the world had long hair.
Long hair on a guy is very cool and and can give him a very tough image. Anyway this is enough for now. So be cool and rock on.
