Is gel bad for hair

It seems that whenever I use gel to keep my hair wet looking, I end up with a lot of hair in my hands. Should I be worried about this. I have really thick hair that I'm just trying to make look stylish.

Everyone loses approximately 100 hairs a day. When the hair is long, it seems as if one is losing more than this. When male pattern baldness kicks in, we still lose those 100 hairs, but they are not replaced by new hair. As long as your hair still looks full, I wouldn't worry about it. Using gel in your hair should have no effect on hairloss. Hairloss is a predetermined condition, which kicks in when your genes and horomones tell it too.
