Seems Like Only Yesterday...

17 months, it's been a long time. It seems like only yesterday I was considering growing my hair on a cold November night. When I first told my mum she thought I was crazy and that I would look daft, but I went on with it.
17 months on and I can easily ponytail it. I never had it cut once. I can't understand people who get a little edgy about thinking they have a mullet and they then get it trimmed at the back to even it out. For a start mullets are pretty cool (in my opinion) and you get a much larger ponytail at the end of the day.
The awkward stage isn't as bad as people make out. It's more like a test I think. The weak ones give up and cut their hair when the going gets tough but the ones who really want it don't give in.
Peoples reactions have been gold dust (not the wrestler). As I live in a small British farming community they gasp in horror at the sight of anything more than a flicked up fringe or a buzzcut.
As Darth Vader once said (or would have if I directed Star Wars) "I find your lack of hair disturbing."
*Sigh* At least I know I'm open-minded, those fools can't even think back to the eighties or early nineties when such things were "in". But like I've said before It was never about trying to be accepted, it was about doing something your own way which can draw the attntion of others, who may see fit to judge you on your appearance. It's a shame, growing your hair out can really show you what people are really like and how narrow minded they can be.
But enough of that! To the future! I don't actually have an ideal length I want to achieve, best to just let it grow!

Thanks guys,
Just thought I'd share that :-)
