re-growing hair (are undershaves okay?)

i am starting to re-grow my hair after being a dumbass with spiking it up a while back. i hope to get it to my shoulders. i just wanted to know if shaving under is okay because the top of my head has all the hair but the sides are still shaved from my usual mushroom cut. my hair is at my nose right now and it is going to be longer again.

It's called an undercut and it's ok.
experiment with it. see what works for you

Just don't shave too high. Just maybe an inch or so above your ears and
lower in the back, like under the part of your hair that can get long.
