Poofy

Anybody know of a safe way to lessen the "poofyness" of pretty curly hair. I'm just starting to grow it out and it's kind of like a mini-fro. I'm not the most fond of that right now. Kind of frizzy, too.

heres what i do. i have poofy hair to. i have a slight undercut, and i get my hair wet in the morning, then i pull the back into a tail( to dry it straighter) and i wear a fitted baseball hat until i get to work, then i take off the hat, undo the tail, and brush it out a little, and it dries straighter and less fro-ey. wear the hat backwards it works better, i dont know why...
