Are any of you trying to grow your hair out jsut to get it braided, or any of you had your hair braided before? I loved it. but the only problem was that I had to take it out the next day because it rained and my hair was really frizzy the next day. is there anyway to prevent this? My hair was in 50 little braids(shoulder length hair), and I only had to pay my friend ten bucks. whats the best way to tie off a braid? we used little rubber bands but it wasn't very nice to my hair getting them out.
thanks
Yeah I got a few questions too

I was thinking about getting my hair braided this summer. I'm wondering that too. Everyone I ask says beads, but I don't see how these stay in well. Also does anyone know how much it would approximately cost?

The going rate is $2.00 per braid. Average number of braids for "small" braids is 100.
That's a $200.00 cost for something that doesn't last all that long.

actually i dont like briads, first off is because the show my scalp and im white and it dont go together with the coloring match like how the black hair blends with the black scalp. My second reason is the it makes the hair look way shorter looking. and im going to through in a 3rd because i just remembered it, you cant really wash it. and to make them stay together better try super glue, always seemed to work for my dog.lol

I love having braids! How long braids last has a lot to do with the style, the length, hair care, and how fast your hair grows. My hair is extremely frizzy and about mid-back unkinked(!)My braids tend to last 3-5 weeks before they start looking skanky. I wash my braids in the shower under light water pressure using watered-down shampoo that's formulated to minimize hair breakage. I VERY GENTLY work the shampoo through my hair, taking care to follow the direction in which my hair is parted. If you get cornrows, be prepared for a lot of itching! Also use LOTS of leave-in conditioner. When you take them out, you can expect a lot of build-up. A lot of hairs will come out, but that's mostly from the natural shedding of hair rather than breakage.
As for price, that depends on who you go to. Some people charge as much as $100.00 to $200.00. The lady that does my hair charges only me $35-45. I hope that answers your questions.
