Define some hair terms

I have a really hard time explaining to people the type of hair I have and what I would like to accomplish since I don't really know what many hair terms mean. All I know is I have very wavy/slightly curly hair in the awkward stage that somewhat resembles a cotton ball (instead of being "bouncy" it just kind of puffs out) the top has some cowlicks (especially at the bangs) and feels a bit coarse sometimes. I would like bouncier hair that falls back into place. But what do I need? More volume, less voume? Body? I don't know what any of these terms mean. Does my hair sound like thick or thin hair? I'm not sure how to tell which is which. And I wish I could post a pic but I can't.

I'm not sure (i'm just 6 months growing)but I think the only thing you need is to wait until your strands are heavier thus more manageable. Your hair is very similar to mine: and it is thick, though it doesn't mean it's stronger because curly hair is usually the weakest
