Time travel - the look

It's not a travel back into the 80's or 70's guys, it's back into older times, much older. How about the gothic/baroque time?
If you've seen the series Gormenghast by BBC, you'll notice that most if not all men have long hair... The villain (and the biggest character) - Steerpike (portrayed by Jonathan Rhys Meyers) - stands out to me in partcular. I LOVE his hairstyle! Too bad we don't see it around anymore.
I've been growing my hair non-stop and non-trim for about a year and a half and it's long enough to go for the Steerpike style now... But I won't have short bangs, though, I don't have the nerve the cut them... LOL. I have no idea what to tell my barber/hairstylist, so I'll really appreciate suggestions on how to instruct my barber.... The problem is that I have way too much hair to tuck behind my ears but not sure how to tell my barber to make thinner, LOL.
Love,
Kev
Oh, Gods.....

I saw like 1 part of that, the last bit, and I seriously wanted to throw the entire trilogy (even that AWFUL Titus Alone) book at the television. How on Earth could they have gotten the entire thing to horribly wrong? Admittedly, Christoper Lee was a VERY good Flay...I awlays imagined Flay having an odd cadence to his voice, rather like Riff Raff in Rocky Horror Picture Show. And that Countess was...the Countess. Barquentine was Barquentine. But the layout of the castle....bleargh! In my mind they got it horribly wrong...I awlays imagined the place as one of those big manor houses with battlements at the roofline. but of course much bigger.
And Steerpike had some rather unSteerpike lines...'From one who should have been your son!'? What the Hell? I never really understood his motives but desire to be on top? Ugh. I never really liked him after he did in Barquentine...and of course the burning of the Library was inexcusable.
But worst of all was that Titus would acyually LEAVE THE CASTLE! Moron....
Oh, yeah. Um, Steerpike had OK hair I guess, but he's not a patch on Flay.
...is it me or does he look a wee bit like Alex from Clockwork Orange? Perhaps a bit high on moloko plus synthamesc, but still a bit lile Alex.
