Hey Guys,
I am going away to college in the fall, and i have had the same short haircut for as long as i can remember. I finally decided to grow my hair out, And i was hoping I could get some beginer advice on growing, maintenance, and styling. (I have strait hair, that tends to be very greasy) Thanks!

Finally going to join the ranks of the sane?
You don't have to do anything, really. Just wash your hair enough to keep it how you like it. Some folks use conditioner when it gets long enought to get tangled hair.
The infamous awkward stage will be with you for a while. Folklore has it that hair grows about 1/2 inch each month.
Good luck! I grew my hair long in college. I had a full beard (still do) and lots of hair. My hair is thinner now (typical male thinning), but still longer than average. I looked wild and crazy those days.
Have fun!

The only thing I want to say is with straight hair, it will be a little less awkward than than wavy or curly hair. And you can get your trimmed along the way (by someone you trust) into styles that look nice while growing out.
