Hi Guys,
Well I was making progress with growing my hair...it was getting pretty long (not real long) but for me it was getting long but unfortunately today the stylist tapered the back...I just wanted it thinned a bit! good news is that the sides and back still have sufficient length but now I must wait for the back to grow back in...damn! I think from now on I'm just not going to get a haircut anymore....or even attempt to get a trim! I think i just about cried after it was over!

One thing the seasoned veterans of this longhaired message board have made clear is "Don't Get Trims" They're not needed for good hair health or for growth. My former hairstylist preached the "Deadend trim" philosophy that says deadend trims help hair grow quicker. MYTH!! All the guys here that already have long hair and have reached their goals say not to get trims. (I know, I just repeated myself) My former hairstylist always told me that she only took off a pinch, but from what I saw as she was cutting was totally the opposite. It's been probably over two months since I had my last, and I do mean last, trim and my hair is doing fine. She said every 6 to 9 weeks, but now I say never again. You'll be fine from here on out now that you know, and the length and then some will be back in no time! KEEP GROWIN' AND GOOD LUCK!!
