MY HAIR CAUGHT ON FIRE!

It's true. I was helping my next-door neighbor re-light the pilot light on his water heater. He had put it up full-blast, but no hot water was coming out of his tap.
So I lit a log-lighter, and stuck it toward the pilot light, then, WHOOSH! A huge burst of flame from the natural gas issued from under and around the water heater. I smelled burning hair. It was mine! I stamped it out using my hands.
I lost most of the hair on my right arm, much of my beard, and a fair amount of hair on the right side of my head. (I didn't have it tied back that day.)
Now I look pretty lopsided.

Damn! What did you neighbor say?
And I suppose your wonderful neighbor comes up smelling roses
with not even an eyelash lost?
Why, I'd blow up his heater...

It's not his fault. He knows less about home repair than that rock over there. He is a nice guy; it was just one of those things!
I trimmed off the burned part and now look unbalanced when my hair is loose. I'll have to wear it in a 'tail all the time now. I'll have to get a trim, I guess.

THAT SUCKS! There but for the grace of God go us all. I think I can safely say that we all feel your pain right now. I hope you're able to salvage something from what you have left so you don't have to get it cut too much.
Best Regards,
The Rev

I almost caught my hair on fire the other day. I was at the summer party at work and I was standing a little too close to a torch thing in the ground. Luckily somebody told me before my head went up in flames.

Dude, I am so sorry. My sympathy goes out to you, sir.
