HOW long 1st ponytail?

I can make a ponytail a few inches but I'm wondering
what is the average length of a decent looking one?

I don't know for sure, but I'd guess about 6 to 7 inches minimum. My hair is about 18 to 19 inches in length, so my 'tail' is long. I do think that a 3 inch ponytail looks 'kinda "cheesy" though. So if you can barely ponytail it -- wait another year to do so. It will look much better.
