Scripture and Long hair on men

Let me first say I have been a quiet observer on this board. All of these fundalmentalist Christians who argue against Long hair on men only give half of the statement that we have all heard from I Corinthians 11:14,15.
"Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
(15)But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering."
These Christians assume we no nothing of the Bible and try to use it for their own personal beliefs. Scripture is Scripture and that cannot be changed. The very next line of Scripture is what they don't want you to see or even know about. This is taken directly from the King James Version.
I Corinthians 11:16 "But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do the churches of God."
That completes the entire statement. Anyone can slice up the Scripture to say what they want. Its when you actually give the entire thought you will find the true desire of God. So to all of you out there who are so quick to point fingers and judge, lets remember three things:
1) We are all God's children.
2) Judgement is reserved for God, and God alone.
3) Let us treat each other who are within the body of Christ with his love and understanding.
If you are a Christian, we all believe in one simple thing; Jesus is the Salvation and doorway to God's kingdom. We all believe this, it does not mean that we all must act, dress, or look the same.
Yes..I agree

These are not 'commands' just suggestions.
Shame does NOT = Sin
Woman don't wear hats in church and christians eat pork.
Only half of men lose hair so
there's a message in Nature somewhere.
Amen

That's right-v. 16 is for the person who wants to point the finger at longhaired men. Doing so makes them contentious and not loving....love lasts forever, not hair.

It's a question

"Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
There's a question mark at the end. That makes this a question. The answer is obvious. NO, NO and NO again! Nature teaches me NO such thing! What nature teaches me is that hair grows on both men and women. Therefore nature itself teaches me that it is natural and desirable for both men and women to have long hair!
How about this one;
But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering."
Does that mean that women are supposed to cover their bodies with long hair? So we can't see their dreadful sinful nakedness?!?! Conversly, does this mean that men are supposed to run around naked and exposed, as they will have been shorn of their hair coverings?
This could go on and on and on. I agree with lonestar. What's really important is this;
1) We are all God's children.
2) Judgement is reserved for God, and God alone.
3) Let us treat each other who are within the body of Christ with his love and understanding.
But, with your permission, I would like to modify it slightly to read;
1) We are all God's children.
2) Judgement is reserved for God, and God alone.
3) Let us treat each other who are within (and those who are not within) the body of Christ with his love and understanding.
Long Hair is Good.
