Are there any good hair ties out there other than the ones Monie sells? If so can you tell me which ones you use and where you get them.

Yeah, "Hair Hoisery" by Scunchi. They have no metal parts. Are available in a variety of colors, including black and brown. They are relatively small and unobtrusive. And they won't damage your hair! I get them at K-mart, Wal-mart, CVS, Ulta. Just about anywhere that sells hair stuff.

out of lurkdom...
I use the hair hoisery hairties, and I love them. You gotta be careful when you buy them, though. Test their stretchyness because some batches are real stretchy and you'll have to wrap them around a few times to get a tight enough tail, and that could end up causing breakage. Other batches are tight enough to only need to be wrapped twice. If you braid your hair, the delicate ends do not get broken if used carefully.
Also, the metal-less elastics are pretty good too. With these it's a good idea to test the adhesive connector because the edges are rough sometimes, and that is about as good for your hair as the metal-casped elastics. These come in more colors (if that matters to you) than the hair hoisery.
