Sticky hair

I am a 22 year old male who for the last five months has experienced really sticky hair after washing out the shampoo and found it difficult to rinse. I have also experienced hair loss within this period and believe that the sticky hair could be contributing factor to my hair loss. Trying a wide variety of shampoo's hasn't solved the problem and I am wondering if anyone could suggest possible causes. Thanks

I think I know what you mean by "sticky hair". When I shampoo(about once a week), I notice that afterwards it is difficult to get my fingers through my hair which is a problem for me because I have a very sensitive scalp and it hurts to pull at my hair. But, after I shampoo, I put conditioner all through it, finish the rest of my shower, then lightly rinse out the conditioner. This in turn gets rid of the stickiness for me. But then again, you probably use conditioner anyway. Good Luck!

It's probably the poo you use, tell us what it is and how you use it.

I've been using pantene smooth and sleek for a while with no conditioner.
I massage shampoo into the scalp for a minute and then rinse.
Shampoo once every 3 or 4 days otherwise my hair starts to becomes greasy and brittle and towel dry.

Well, there is the problem. Conditioner or cream rinse keeps the hair from getting dried out and "sticky" or tangled. If you wish to grow it long you will need to embrace conditioners and back off on the poo.
Pantene is great as soap (like most widely advertised TV shampoos) but soap isn't what your hair needs. I would try a brand like Aussie which is widely available but is actually good. You might really like their daily creme rinse/detangler called "Slip".
Let us know if that works any better for you.
