Not growing

Hey, it's been about 15 months since I last got my hair cut or trimmed and it's been quite a while since I've noticed any progress. I have wavy hair and in the back where it touches my shoulders, strands are constantly coming out easily. I've tried washing my hair every day, not washing it at all, brushing it, not brushing it, just using shampoo, just using conditioner. I think I'm loosing too much hair every day for it to be growing which would explain why it doesn't appear to be getting any longer. Any suggestions?
well

...7 and a half inches is not that long, especially
if you have wavy hair. Maybe give it more time!

Good news and bad news - everyone does have a maximum length that their hair will grow to. It varies considerably from person to person and is the usual statistical bell curve with one extreme at around the ankles and the majority somewhere between mid-back and waist. You may be unfortunate enough to be at the short end of the curve who will never get much beyond shoulder-blade level but that is statistically rare.
I think it is more likely that you are just at the stage where perception of growth is hard to detect. Wavy hair will do that, the natural sring in the curl will hide growth until suddenly the weight of the hair gets stronger than the tension in the curl and it will seem to have just put on a spurt of growth. Looking at your hair when wet will give you a more consistent measurement.
Don't worry about losing hair. Again this is perception - longer hair has a much greater visibility but the total number of hairs is probably exactly the same. Do the math - lose 120 half inch hairs a day - total length 5 feet. Lose 120 foot long hairs a day...
Diet has a much greater impact on hair growth than shampooing or conditioning. A good balanced diet with plenty of vitamins and minerals will promote good healthy growth and will add to your general health too. Dietary supplements like Biotin work well for some people and have little effect on others. Worth a try once.

i found once it starts going round the ears there appears less growth... but really its just cos it is being hidden, but also, because going round your ears is a longer route than the previous 'hanging over' look, well thats wot i think anyways. just let it fall in your face and see then if theres any difference.
