Very Weird

I have been shampooing less and less as my hair grows longer, I haven't gotten poofy hair for months, despite the criminal even out trim I had, however, now I feel shampoo is beeing 2 or 3 times as aggresive to my hair. I really don't want to shampoo anymore, but the shorter hair that was evened out needs it sometimes. Why am I feeling the damage so big lately? I like how its going, but that trim is going to take me months to recover. Any idea how to cope with this?

...Well, here's a thought: Maybe it's because the LONGER hair
is OLDer.
Older hair--like older cloth--needs to be babied more. That's
probably why the shorter, newer hair that is growing out can
take the shampooing...
...while the older hair doesn't enjoy that kind of treatment?!
Maybe diluting your shampoo with lots of water first might help?
I am no expert, but the older hair is the more careful you have to be with it, one would think.
