Blow-drying

I just read on the Samson page that he blow dries sparingly, if at all. Is blow-drying bad for your hair? I have horribly curly hair, and I find that blow-drying is the only way to stop it from going curly. Suggestions?

If I blow dry I become my evil funkmeister twin.

Blow dryers are for people whose hair has to last only a few months between being grown and being cut. To keep hair in good condition for 5+ years, blow dryers can't be used as designed.
The only safe way I've found to use a blow dryer is to place it on a stand about 5 feet away so the air reaching the hair is barely warm.

Use a blow-drier all you want man. I have perfectly healthy hair down to my shoulders with no split ends or damage and I use a blow drier every day. Don't worry about it man.

I think some people have more fragile hair which is more easily damaged by heat. In any case, there are various products to protect your hair from heat when blow-drying it. What works well for me is straightening balm.
