Try not washing your hair. It might not smell so good, but it'll definitely give you that look, unless you have really dry hair. If that's the case, or if you don't want to go around with smelly hair, try jojoba oil or some type of oil... it'll make your hair greasy though. Nothing will exactly mimic the wet look water gives you, but those are the closest things I can think of.

I pretty much used any gel that didn't have alcohol in it. I used Pantene and also Dep. Some of the gels will say on the bottle something like "for the wet look". I've found that they give the wet look, but they stiffen your hair up. I just got Dep #10 since I'm an ex longhair going through the awkward phase again and #10 has the strongest hold.

Man, how I wish the shift key wasn't right under the enter key. Anyway, try Dep level 8 or higher gel for the wet look. Work a generous amount in when your hair is wet.

Gel dosent seem to work for me, tried a few diffrent ones and they all give that look for mabey an hour or so then they harden and my hair looks like plastic!
besides i think hair looks better soft and free than all hard with gel in it, even in the awkward stage :-)

Once hair gets to a certain length, it is normal for it to move as you do. It won't look natural if frozen, once it reaches that length. This means that something that looked fine when your hair was shorter may not now.

yeah your right, when i was at about 3 or 4 months i used Gel every single day to keep it semi-neat looking,
now my bangs in the front i can pull down to my lips and the hair in the back is starting to touch my upper sholder
thing was my hair looks longer when its wet because its so curly and thich it tends to curl up and look like its only a few inches when its completly dry

As far as a fairly non-harmful product (most do contain alcohol, but seem to be very mild), you could try hair tonic. It's an old barber shop product that was probably popular with the Bryle (spelling?!) cream crowd. It doesn't stiffen your hair, but it adds a wet look (it's just water, oil, alcohol, and sometimes fragrance). A friend of mine used it in his hair for a play we were both in, and it gave him the "wet" look all night. It also allows your hair to move somewhat naturally.

Try a product by Sebastian called "Wet" It is not greasy but gives the hair that wet look all day. I love a guy who slicks his hair back into a ponytail with some sort of gel or tonic. It is a nice, clean, sexy look.

What sort of product is it...leave in conditioner, gel, mousse, what? I've never seen a product that will leave the hair wet all day, although really nasty stuff like grease and vaseline can come close.
Of course, with some products you can re-wet it to reactivate. And there are plenty of products that will leave your hair its wet COLOR, i.e darker, and spikey if short or piecey if long. If you comb it or brush it you lose a lot of the dark and all of the spikeyness/pieceyness.
If Sebastian "Wet" gets around this, I'd like to know what it is and where to get it.
