Trims

Hi.
I've been growing my hair for about a year.
In the past 2 months I did 2 trims:cut the back to about upper neck(looked like a mullet) and cut the hairs behind my ears(really annoying/sticking out).
I know most of u don't support it but I am intrested to know from people who did this kind of trims, how it turned out to be and if u liked the result.
Thanks,
Adi.

While I'm an avid supporter of maintenance trims once your hair is long, I think it's not a good idea to get trims when trying to grow it out. The only exception is if the hair has damaged ends or if it's really uneven. Damaged ends need to be clipped. If the hair is obviously longer on one side, a trim to even it out is a good idea.
But a trim for the sake of getting a trim only serves to make your awkward stage last longer. You only get maybe 1/2" a month. Why trim and lose a month or two?
When hair is growing, it'll have a natural, slightly mullet look. But it's not a mullet. When hair on the sides is over the ears, the mullet look is gone.
It's your hair, and you have to do what you want with it. But at a year, you shouldn't trim it unless you NEED to.
