First & Second Samsons

Does anyone have any updates on Mart or Jimmy, the first and second Samsons from The Men's Long Hair Site. Do either of them have websites? It's been about three years since Victor did profiles on these two guys.

"Sorry folks, World of Trousers is currently on hold. Speak to you soon :)"
"Currently" seems like "forever!"

I received an email some time ago from Mart that he had cut his hair. He is a swimmer, and he realized that his hair never dried out with it that long. Last I heard, he was keeping it shoulder length or so.

And thus dies a most awesome progress story. Sad. But I gotta say though, with hair as long as he had, it had to be a major pain to take care of. Plus that not drying out thing. Talk about being permanently water-logged. I'd say good move on his part. Peace!!!!!

Well, I swim almost every day before work. But I have a long commute (35 min) and it's mostly dry by the time I get to work. I normally wear a ponytail at work, but leave it loose on the drive to dry out faster.
I don't see how the length of the hair affects the drying time, assuming that a person towel dries the hair first so that it doesn't drip. Both the amount of residual water in the hair and the area of contact with the air vary linearly with the length so it should be a wash.

No pun intended, I assume. I think the issue with long hair is that to keep it all organized and free of tangles, he kept it tied up in pony tail holders. This he did while the hair was still wet, but he did it because his hair was so long. It's the bunching up of the hair that keeps it from drying out. When I have time, I'll try to find his email to me and post it here if there is more that I'm leaving out.

Even so, a long ponytail would dry out as fast as a short ponytail if both were kept tied up. However, I suppose he basically wanted to have his hair loose to dry out faster, but not so long as to be a hassle with tangles. I have shortened mine for the same reason.

Here's an archive of the faq he posted after he cut it. Unfortunately the pictures don't seem to have been archived.
