I thought it might be fun to try colouring my hair, and though it claims on the packet that it is good for your hair, containing nutrients and stuff, I've been told that colouring can damage your hair.. Does it?

For the most part coloring does damage hair. Subjecting hair to chemicals of any kind is bound to damage it in my opinion. My wife colors her hair all the time and hers is pretty much like straw. She has to condition the crap out of it to get it to halfway behave or do anything she wants it to. Your decision though. Good Luck! Peace!!!!!

if you don't constantly color it then it will be fine as long as you get a good conditioner and use it everyday and don't change the color of your hair every other week.

In fact, if your hair is dark and you want to get it colored, let`s say light brown or blonde, you`ll have to use a color remover---->this is the stuff which damages hair, because it removes the color and leaves it weak. What also damages hair is PERMAMNENT COLORANTS. (ex, Nutrisse, Excellence, Bellecolor)
HOWEVER, there is one which is quite good and whilst being permanent, it doesn`t contain Ammonium. It CLAIROL HERBAL
If on the other hand, you use a NON-PERMANENT COLOR, the effect will last up to 6 weeks. This non-permanent colorant usually doesn`t contain Ammonium and is beneficial to the hair. The best is L`ORÉAL CASTING.
