is this just an awkward stage thing?

I'm at one year and have thick, wavy, kinda frizzy hair. When I run my hand through my hair back and forth (or it gets messed up by wind or something else) instead of falling back down into place most of it just stays that way and my hair ends up looking like a giant cotton candy or something similar, is this just an awkward stage thing or will this always happen?

I have the exact same hair and am at pretty much the same stage. My hair does the same thing as well, the best thing I've found is this Paul Brown Pashion Shine Gel-- i know, it's a stupid name. I rub a tiny bit into my hands in the morning, damp my hair a bit and just run it over my hair. I don't mean to plug a product here, but this stuff does the trick for me, once it dries, i run my hands through it, as instructed, for a dry look. It makes my awkward looking wave look cool, it isn't sticky, and man, my hair gets this really great shine, haha, i feel im tricking people into thinking i have healthy hair..
I guess what I'm trying to say here is you're best off finding that magic product that works for you during the awkward stage. Just try a bunch, this was actually one of my moms super old gels, i tried it out a couple months ago and bought a bottle for myself.

I'm guessing you have dry hair? My hair did that when it was long because at the time I had dry hair, and it looked poofy if I just ran my hands through it. Maybe you're washing too much?

I'm having the exact same thing. It's pretty fun to mess around with at home, but I was starting to miss having the window down while driving. But since it's getting to be winter (in Colorado) I don't think that'll be a real big problem. If you haven't noticed by now, I don't have any advice. Except for maybe me, you, and Polska should start a support group or something.

I don't have any advice either, but i have the exact same problem, so you're not the only one.
