Braids on guys

Hello everyone. It's been a real long time since I've been here...my hair is now long! Anyway...
I'm 19 and am in my second year of college. I usually wear my slightly-longer-then-shoulder-length dark blonde hair (it is straight to a little below my ears before it starts getting wavy) in a ponytail. One night last weekend, I got my hair braided by a few (intoxicated) girls. They did about 8 braids (moderately sized), I believe, in various areas. Everyone there seemed to like it, so I kept them in. Partying later that night, I asked a bunch of my friends how they liked my hair. To my surprise, every single person said they liked it, and said I should keep them in. A (girl) friend called it "sexy". A (guy) friend said that he thought girls would like it, and said to keep them in. I had to take them out after showering, but now have offers from other girls to do my hair.
Do girls really like braided hair on guys? What kind of braids? I had my hair done again, but smaller braids, and I seemed to get less of a response (they were harder to see). Is there any way to keep braids in for a while?
Thanks a lot!

Yeah, familiar stuff happens to me. Whenever the girls are drunk they like to play with my hair. But I try not to let it happen to much, when they arent intoxicated b/c then u become one of the girls, which is not what u want. I dont know how much girls like braids on guys, I think most girls dont even like longhair on guys. But, still braids are cool, I had a girlfriend who would braid my hair and I would end up with anything from a french braid, to a bun , to pigtails, ( in private only of course b/c she liked it, as did I, but I would never let the guys see.)

I wear a bun to work (nearly) every day, and sometimes my wife will weave a braid, when she has time. Buns are a professional way of adding a controlled and subtle intrique into a professional appearance. Don't be ashamed of it, be proud that you are man enough to wear it!

I'm afraid I can't really say wether women like braids on men.
Myself, I love having my ponytail braided and would happily
wear my hair that way most of the time if I could just figure
out how to braid it...
Try it for a while. I bet they look pretty good.

I was thinking of braiding my hair too... just wondering:
1) will having many small for a longer period of time damage my hair in any way?
2) (like the other guy asked) how can I keep them for days/weeks through showering, sleeping, etc.?

Not into multiple braids (over 2) but my son-in-law had them a few times (done by my daughter) and with the "younger" generation he could get away with it at work. : I had to take them out after showering, but now have offers from other girls to do my hair. and the problem is? : Do girls really like braided hair on guys? What kind of braids? I had my hair done again, but smaller braids, and I seemed to get less of a response (they were harder to see). Is there any way to keep braids in for a while? Well, my wife of 25 years has been braiding mine every morning (very few exceptions) for 7+ years. I get many stares...or at least she says I get them..I dont notice..from jealousy (mostly bald guys...) to envy..some kids and women alike as my hair is just below my belt. She loves it braided..period. She has done Native styles (I am 3rd generation removed Georgia Creek) to French Braids which she said were great for hiding my center thining area (but to much work on a regular basis she said). At 6'4 and 200# I can wear any dang style I want..My wife doesn't like the crown-start braids nore the nape-start so she starts about half-way inbetween..as it comes loose (upper/front hairs) I slip a schrunchie up the rope to hold down the loose ends..so I wear one on the bottom to start...nice you can get them to match color of your shirts/etc. and people dont notice their size..so I like the big ones. My daughters wedding 2 years ago... black tux and black-lace schrunchie...everyone thought the lace was a touch of class... keep growin... Bill (F) : Thanks a lot!
