isnt the awkward stage where your hair is not long enough to do anything with. And when you talk to people you notice that they are quite often staring up at your hair and you know their thinking look at this awkward clown head.
I can use gel and slick it but then i look like a slick insurance salesman. And whering bandanas is for hippies and gang bangers.....help me............................im scare'd.

Try wearing a cap. That got me through the awkward phase.

I'm in the same stage..
I wear a cap, or use gel to slick it back. Hell if I care what other people think long as it keeps me happy, and not feeling like a clown.
And its taking so god damn long to grow it out..feels it at least.

Well, I'd be too!
Calm down...
you're NOT a clown...

They might be thinking. I wonder if this guy is growing his hair.
They might even be thinking, I bet it will look great in s few months' time.
Once your hair is long, yo uwill get a lot of people looking at it. Some will like it, some won't, others will be fascinated. I was recently talking to a girl I know who has never seen me without my hair in a tail. The tie I was using was a bit old and is not as strong as it was, so I had to retie it. She didn;t say anything, but she watched all the time - all ten seconds!
So, get used to people looking at your hair. The more you have, the more they will look. But that's a lot better than not having any and nobody bothering to look.
