braids

Some people always ask about ways to make your hair grow faster, and for me the trick has been braids. I started putting all of my hair in small braids (similar look to dreds) when it was around 5 inches, and ever since then its been growing nearly twice as fast as it did out of braids. It grew about an inch every 3 months... and im guessing its because of the tension pulling the hair away from your scalp is what does the trick. The only bad thing about this is that when you take your hair out of the braids it can be really frizzy and broken for awhile.

The average hair growth is 1/2 inch a month which calculates out to 1 inch every 2 months, so I'm sorry to say that 1 inch every 3 months is quiet slow compared to what most people get on average. I think I'd check that measurement again, or maybe the excessive braiding is damaging the hair and breaking it off a lot. I think the art of traction or tention would only harm the hair, not make it grow faster. Patience and gentleness is the key. Peace!

"Seems" is the key word here as braiding cannot and will not make hair grow faster.
